Ogilvy & Mather China to host Portfolio Night
In an initiative that nurtures young creative talent, Ogilvy & Mather China and Portfolio Night, a global portfolio review and recruitment event founded by IHAVEANIDEA and presented by ADC, are once again coming together for 2014 Portfolio Night in in Beijing and Shanghai, where Ogilvy will be the official City Host.
Taking place simultaneously in all participating cities worldwide on May 21, Portfolio Night has begun its official recruitment of up-and-coming advertising creative talent in China, including designers, copywriters, technologists, illustrators and more.
Portfolio Night is a high-energy evening of networking, talent-spotting, counseling and recruiting. Ogilvy will bring together up to 40 top creative directors in Beijing and Shanghai to provide young talent with the opportunity to learn from the best. Paid internships and potential job opportunities will be offered to candidates who showcase the most impressive creative portfolios. Participating creative directors will also get a chance to mentor and give back to the advertising industry.
Following the success of last year’s All-Stars competition, each city will nominate its best and brightest creative candidate to compete against one another in a week-long creative challenge in New York. Last year, the chosen candidate from Shanghai was part of the winning team to take the All-Stars title for their creative concept for Ford’s brief. This year, All-Stars candidates will again compete to develop a real world brief for a brand.
Graham Fink, Chief Creative Officer of Ogilvy & Mather China, commented, “We are keeping our eyes peeled for the next big star. For many, Portfolio Night is that career-changing opportunity.”
“In the creative industry, our big ideas are our competitive advantage, and talented people are our greatest asset. With Graham at the helm of the Portfolio Night China ship, I am confident that more aspiring creatives will take the opportunity to join marketing communications and help shape our industry’s future in China,” said Shenan Chuang, CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Greater China.
This year marks the fifth time in six years that O&M will be partnering as the host agency in China.
