DUSSELDORF, Germany – Xaxis, the world’s largest audience buying company, announced the appointment of ad industry executive Christian Wilkens as Managing Director, Germany. Wilkens joins the company from Microsoft Advertising, where he served as the primary contact with WPP for all ad business including video, display, mobile, social, performance, Windows 8 and Xbox.

At Xaxis, Christian Wilkens will lead strategy and operations in Germany including sales and account management, product, data and insights, as well as publisher relations and strategic partnerships.

Xaxis Germany forms a core part of the company’s global business, which has grown to a footprint of 26 countries to date. As one of the core Xaxis markets, Germany takes the lead on many initiatives with the EMEA and Global business.

Wilkens brings a wealth of media industry experience to the role, with 12 years in media sales, marketing and publishing. He started his career at Bauer Media Group where he managed German magazine, Maxi and was later promoted to two concurrent positions: Publishing Manager for Auto Zeitung and Head of Business Development.
He is a Business graduate from Nordakademie Elmshorn.
